New study: Dietary inflammatory potential influences IBD prognosis

Published online: 04.03.2025

We are excited to announce the publication of our new study: “The Dietary Inflammatory Potential and Its Role in The Risk and Progression of Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A Systematic review”.

This work explores the relationship between dietary inflammatory potential and the development and progression of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We present evidence showing that dietary inflammatory potential—how certain foods and dietary patterns influence inflammation—plays a crucial role in managing IBD.

Our findings suggest that a higher dietary inflammatory potential may worsen disease course in IBD patients but it’s role in the risk of IBD development remains unclear.
