IBD has a prodromal phase but data describing it are scarce. In this population-based nation- and medication-wide study we describe medication use preceding a diagnosis of IBD. We find that patients with IBD have higher use of almost every medication already 10 years prior to IBD diagnosis, indicating multiorgan involvement.
